After a girl child assault

The world has changed a lot. Things that were considered abominations in the olden days are now being looked at more softly and accepted as a modern way of life.

I can't imagine a situation whereby a father of children who had carnal knowledge of a child would casually be allowed to see his kids of the same age, or his children would be allowed to see him after he has served his punishment as if nothing happened. What kind of excuses and stories would he tell his children or the family at large? I know this kind of situation will be blamed on the devil, whereas the devil has no hand in it. I am of the opinion that during and after the incident, and even after years of punishment, the man should not be allowed to get close to his children until the children come of age and are able to understand some basic things in life.

If I had my way in implementing the law, I would make it a lifetime ban from seeing the children because it is really very disgraceful. Even as an adult, I don't know how I would feel if I got a call from home informing me that my dad had carnal knowledge of a child. That would really break my heart, like a knife cutting through my flesh.

Society has loosened up a lot, and most of the things that used to be taboo in the olden days are now given modern treatment, making it seem as though the old ways were actually against humanity. These days, there are many justifications for why a father must return to his family or children after just a few years, all in the name of getting emotional support.

Way back when I was in secondary school, the wife of a very popular clergyman in town was caught having an extramarital affair with another man. It was so shocking because the church and the clergyman's family were well known and respected in the town. The children of the family were in our school, and we had one of them as our classmate, while the eldest daughter was a class ahead of us and the others were our juniors.

We were already old enough, and you can imagine how painful and hurtful it was for the children to cope in school with all the side talks and backlash.

Guess what? The woman died a few months after the incident. Although we never got to know the exact cause of her death because there were many stories surrounding it, her death was not something to celebrate. However, it instilled more fear in the minds of people, discouraging them from ever engaging in such an act.

That was a case involving adults engaged in an extramarital affair. How much more a grown man with a family going after a very young and vulnerable child? It seems so unforgivable, yet these days the law appears to forgive everything with mere punishments, and the culprit eventually returns to society as if nothing happened. This is also similar to the case of bandits in Nigeria who, after being rehabilitated, are returned to society. What a mess!

In this life, do everything possible not to become a victim of any crime because, it seem as though the law forgives everything with relatively light punishments.
