Laziness unleashed
I've thought about how my body system works, and I think the biggest punishment anyone can give me in terms of work is asking me to arrange a room, a house, or an office. I can sweep, mop, and wash, but when it comes to arranging a space, my laziness gets unleashed.
I recently experienced this, and at a point, I wanted to hire someone to help me arrange a very small space in my office. I would have been mocked if I did because it's a very small task.
I had a long office chair that I had used as a place to dump a large heap of clothes. The task was simple: bring out the chair so it could be used by people coming to the office, which meant I had to remove the heap of clothes from it and place the clothes somewhere else.
So, I decided that once I got to work on Tuesday, that would be the first thing I would do. I got to the office that day, saw the heap of clothes, and immediately, the scene looked like a mountain I needed to clear by faith. I summoned the courage to arrange where I would place the heap of clothes, but after that, the sluggishness to go ahead and offload the clothes appeared on the scene. It was so serious because I had to sort the clothes one after another and not just pack and drop them directly. So, I left the task and went on to press my phone for about an hour, leaving the task there smiling at me.
After an hour, I went back, did a little sorting, and then switched back to pressing my phone again. That was how I kept doing it little by little until the evening when I was about to go home. I had to pressure myself to finish the task before leaving because if I left it for the next day, the same thing was going to happen all over again.
Most times, my system functions quickly on tasks like this whenever it's an impromptu. But whenever I get to allow my brain to think about it first, mehn, there's gonna be trouble.
