I'm not tired yet
A lot of us who are still active on Hive have just a few reasons why we are still here compared to how things were back in the days when everything was very fine and "green." For many people who quit, the system was draining them, especially because the outcome was not matching their effort.
Is Hive draining me or helping me?
The truth is, if I had ever felt drained by whatever is happening here, I would have quit a long time ago, just like many of my friends who opted out months and even years ago. So yes, I have never felt drained, and that's because writing does not actually take much time for me, except when I want to write on topics or in communities that I know I am not very familiar with. This is why I have opted out of many communities where I used to be active, especially those that usually took a lot of my time because I had to write responses to their contests.
To make things easier for myself and keep going, I have also reduced the amount of effort I put into it because, hey, I won't lie, the earnings have been very discouraging and have never matched the effort. Also, I have a community that I run, and even though the journey hasn't been smooth, I haven't felt drained when it comes to updating the activities there once in a while.
Being honest too, one of the major reasons I haven't felt the urge to quit or feel like I'm being drained is because there are still earnings coming in. If tomorrow the payments finally stop, then even writing a single sentence for a post here would feel like a waste of time, and that's the truth.
Since it's not draining me, it means it's helping me, right?
Ummm....
Somehow yes.
The earnings from this place are still very helpful because once in a while, I withdraw and use the money to sort out my financial needs.
