The Seventh Day of My Summer Job Journey: Another Day Filled with Work, Learning, and Fun
I can't believe that it has already been a week since I started my summer job. Thinking about it makes me a little emotional because on my first day, I was extremely nervous and still trying to adjust to the new environment. Everything felt unfamiliar, and I wasn't sure what to expect. However, after a week of working, I can confidently say that I have adjusted well and become much more comfortable with my surroundings and daily responsibilities.
I've also become closer to Airha, Ate Roczan, and Kuya Clark since we've spent a lot of time working together and bonding while doing our tasks. I'm also thankful that we were assigned to work in Sir Ron's office because it made the experience even more enjoyable. Special mention as well to Ate Maricho, whose Bible study sessions before we start work have been very meaningful and helpful throughout this journey.
Passport-Style Invitations
Our first task for today is printing and creating passport-style invitations for an event. At first, I really thought it would be easy since we were already given the layout and all we had to do was print, cut, and staple. But I was so wrong because it turned out to be very tiring, especially since there were a lot of small details to manage. We also ran out of ink, bond paper, and glue, which really slowed down our work.
It was a lot of effort, but I really like the concept of the passport-style invitation because it fits the theme of the event. The event is a dance performance featurinng the different dancing styles of the different countries called Sayaw Kabataan, so the idea of making the invitation look likee a passport is very creative since it feels like the participants are traveling through different cultures.
Counting Money for the Last Time
I can't believe this is our last time counting money and putting cash prizes into envelopes. It was actually my first timee holding such a large amount of money, even if it wasn’t mine. Hopefully, by God’s grace in the future, I’ll also be able to handle that kind of money myself.
If I remember correctly, when we counted everything from the first batch up to the last, it was around 600,000 to 900,000 pesos, but I’m not really sure anymore sinnce I already forgott the exact amount of the others.
Unexpected Moments While Encoding the Event Script
After that, Sir Ron also asked us to encode the script for the host’s introduction of the judges. While I was encoding, I got confused because I saw a name that said “mubog tiil,” and I was wondering why it sounded so random. I asked Sir Ron about it, and we both endedd up laughing because it actually translates to “short legs.” Sir Ron then decided to replace it with the judge’s real name insteadd, just to avoid any misunderstanding or possible disrespect.
After everything we had done, Sir Ron let us rest until 5 PM so we could recover and not get too exhausted. It was a much-needed break since we were already feeling tired from all the work we had done earlier. During that time, we just relaxed and prepared ourselvess for the remaining tasks ahead.
That would be all, Thank You for reading!
