My Favourite Mode of Transport – Travelling by Bus
Transportation is an integral part of our daily life. We all need a means of transport to move from one place to another. People travel for different reasons such as going to school, work, church, markets, and visiting family and friends. Aeroplanes, motorcycles, trains, ships and cars are some of the modes of transport. Although all these means of transportation are useful, my favourite mode of transport is the bus.
I like buses as they are easy to use and cheap. Many people here in my country use buses for travelling for many reasons – they are cheaper than flying and more comfortable than long-distance motorcycle rides. When I need to go to another city, the bus is always the first thing I think about as the destination is cheaper and still allows me to enjoy the trip.
I also like travelling by bus because I like to see the scenery in the window. I get to see wonderful places on the bus that I wouldn't see if I wasn't on a bus. I like to see green farms, tall trees, a small village, rivers, and bustling towns. I even sometimes see children playing outside, or farmers working in their fields. These are little things that make my journey interesting and fun for me.
I enjoy travelling by bus too, because as I travel I'm able to see different people. I have had many times to sit with someone next to me and hear their stories about their life and experiences. Some speak about their working, others about their family or their travels. I think bus travel is important for connecting people together, for learning new things.
A trip I recall a couple of years ago was visiting my uncle in another state. I was on an early morning bus and sat by the window. Weather – cool, journey – started peacefully. The bus made a stop at a stallside market and passengers filled the bus with snacks, fruits, and drinks. I purchased roasted corn and water.
Throughout the ride, I encountered numerous stunning views of the natural landscape that further enriched my understanding of the beauty and harmony of nature. I also encountered an old man next to me. He was very nice, friendly and gave me tales of his youth and various places he had visited. Listening to him made the journey shorter and more enjoyable.
Finally, we reached our destination and I felt happy and excited! Although I was exhausted, I still couldn't leave behind the great times I had on the trip. My journey taught me that travel is not just about getting there; it's about the memories and experiences created along the way.
So, I would like to end this discussion with the fact that I still love going on the bus because it is cheap, comfortable and gives me the chance to see new people and beautiful scenery. Each bus ride is an adventure and I always enjoy my bus trips when I get them.
