My saturday escape from corporate life
Saturday was supposed to be my productive day off, but the weather had other plans. The rain poured the night before, making the air cold and cozy enough to sleep longer than usual. When I woke up, it was already late in the morning. And though the sun already shown itself, still I felt too lazy to go out.
I spent most of the morning relaxing, using my phone, and simply enjoying the quiet mood. After a busy week at work, it felt good to slow down for a while.
In the afternoon, I started feeling bored, so I thought about doing something active so as not to let my rest day go to waste. I thought of going for a jog or maybe just a simple walk at a park near my office. People usually walk, jog, play sports like badminton and soccer there. As for me and my friends, we usually go there for a picnic or buy food from the "Banchetto” or night food bazaar with many stalls selling street food, snacks, and meals.
At around 5 PM, I headed out and started with brisk walking. The weather turned out perfect, I must say gloomy, but not too hot and not too cold. The rain from the previous night left a cool breeze in the air which is almost like a sign that summer was finally coming to an end. The sky looked calm, and everything felt fresh.
I had my earphones on and played some classic millennial songs that instantly lifted my mood. And for a moment, I forgot about work, stress, and my toxic coworkers. It was just me, the music, with the people around minding their own businesses.
Of course, I got tired quickly since I had been inactive the whole day, so I had a short rest near the soccer field while watching the people of all ages playing soccer.
When I passed by the Obstacle Park, I suddenly had the urge to go and try the challenging courses because I am confident that I can do it, but I do not have enough time so I'm saving it for next time.
Came across this cutie cat and finally, at 6:30 pm, I decided to go home and end the day as I still have to come to work early in the morning which is as early as 3 am. I was tired, but strangely, it felt great I felt rejuvenated and ready to take on another stresful day at work.
Sometimes, a simple jog on a quiet Saturday afternoon is enough to recharge both the body and mind. It may not have been the most exciting day off, but it was exactly the kind of break I needed-an escape from my busy corporate life!
