I was afraid of getting old, but aging is not so bad after all
When you were still young, how confident are you to tell people what your age is? I bet, like me, when I was 18, you feel or felt so proud to tell people your age because you thought being 18 already made you a real adult.
In my early 20s, I was still confident whenever someone asked how old I was. But when I reached my late 20s, I started worrying about getting older. I would overthink about aging and sometimes feel anxious that I'm not getting any younger.
Now that I’m in my 30s, I’ve realized that getting older is not so bad after all. In fact, it has brought a lot of good things into my life.
One of the biggest changes is that I finally got the glow-up I always wanted. Back in my 20s, I had very sensitive skin and often struggled with pimples and acne breakouts, which caused me so much stress and insecurity. Now, my skin has become more manageable. Because I already have a stable job, I can finally afford proper skincare and treatments prescribed by a dermatologist, even if they are expensive. Something I could not do when I was younger because I simply did not have enough money.
*When I was younger, I only relied on self-prescribed skincare treatments because I do not have enough money to afford these kind of proper treatments before.
I also gained more wisdom as I grew older. I learned how important it is to take care of both my physical and mental health. I now make sure to take vitamins, get enough sleep, and distance myself from things, and even people that only bring stress into my life.
Growing older also taught me to accept my flaws and appreciate the life I have. I now feel happy and content knowing that I am living a healthy and peaceful life. Now, I’m no longer ashamed to say that "I'm 30" when someone asks my age.
