Ingredients

For the Tacos:
๐Ÿฅฉ 1 pound ground beef (88% lean / 12% fat)
๐Ÿง‚ Salt
๐ŸŒถ๏ธ Black Pepper
๐ŸŒฎ 6 small tortillas
๐Ÿง€ 6 slices American cheese
๐Ÿง… Finely chopped onions (for topping)
๐Ÿฅ’ Pickles (for topping)
๐Ÿฅฌ Shredded lettuce (for topping)
For the Sauce:
๐Ÿฅ„ 1 cup mayonnaise
๐Ÿ… 1/4 cup ketchup
๐Ÿฏ 2 tablespoons mustard
๐Ÿฅ„ 1 heaping tablespoon sweet relish
๐Ÿฅ’ 1/4 cup pickle juice


Instructions

1- Prepare the Sauce:

  • In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, sweet relish, and pickle juice.
  • Mix until well combined and set aside.

2- Portion the Beef:

  • Divide the ground beef into small, golf ball-sized portions.
  • This helps ensure even cooking and perfect patty size for the tortillas.

3- Cook the Smash Burger Tacos:

  • Preheat a nonstick skillet on high heat.
  • Place a beef ball in the center of the skillet, seasoning it with salt and pepper.
  • Place a tortilla on top of the beef ball. Using another pan or a burger press, smash the beef down firmly onto the tortilla, ensuring it's flattened thin.
  • Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom is crisp.
  • Using a spatula, carefully flip the tortilla and burger over.
  • Place a slice of American cheese on top of the patty. Allow the cheese to melt completely.
  • Remove the taco from the skillet once the cheese melts, and repeat the process for the remaining beef portions.

4- Assemble and Serve:

  • Top each taco with your favorite toppings: chopped onions, pickles, shredded lettuce, and the prepared sauce.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
