Savar Bulgur Pilaf with Vermicelli

Ingredients
🥄 1/2 cup olive oil
🍝 1 cup vermicelli
🌾 2 cups bulgur (#2 or #3 grind)
🥄 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon (or vegetable bouillon)
🌶️ 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🥣 4 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
Instructions
1- Prepare the Pot:
- Place a large pot over high heat and pour in the olive oil.
- Heat until the oil shimmers.
2- Toast the Vermicelli:
- Add the vermicelli to the pot.
- Stir constantly until golden in color.
3- Combine with Bulgur:
- Rinse bulgur under cold water.
- Add it to the pot and mix well for even flavoring.
4- Season the Mix:
- Sprinkle chicken (or vegetable) bouillon evenly.
- Add black pepper and distribute by stirring.
5- Simmer with Broth:
- Pour in the chicken (or vegetable) broth and stir.
- Allow to simmer, then cover with a tight-fitting lid.
6- Cook Undisturbed:
- Reduce heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes.
- Ensure liquid is absorbed.
7- Rest and Soften:
- Turn off the heat once liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Let sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
8- Fluff and Serve:
- Fluff pilaf with a fork to separate grains.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
