A deep breath
completely
past
the lungs
as if they
never existed

Gasping
in cycles
of nothingness
desperate
pleas
running out
of time

And space
to live
and celebrate
life or
what we
knew

Adjacent
to the pain
that always
seems to
rear its
ugly
head
