The romance genre has seen a lot more activity lately with movies that don’t need much action or adventure—simply depicting something related to love and a relationship can create a great storyline from start to finish. However, everything changes when the relationship turns into an obsession, and that’s where movies of this style need to be perfect; otherwise, they’re a disaster. That’s why Deseo was recently released—a film that fails to hit the mark and shows that there are people in this world who go so far as to change their lifestyle and personality just to be in a relationship, letting themselves be swept away by something they don’t actually need.

El género de romance en los últimos tiempos ha tenido mucho más movimiento con películas que no necesitan tanta acción, aventura simplemente mostrar algo relacionado con el amor y una relación puede llegar a crear una gran trama de inicio a fin, sin embargo, todo cambia cuando la relación pasa a hacer una obsesión y allí es donde películas de este estilo necesitan ser perfectas, ya que si no son un desastre. Por eso hace poco se estrenó Deseo, siendo una película que no logro el objetivo y muestra que en esta vida hay personas que lleguen a cambiar su estilo de vida y su formar de ser nada más por el hecho de lograr una relación y se dejan llevar por algo que no necesitan.

Love is beautiful and comes at just the right moment, but this movie portrays it in a way that can be very delicate, turning it into a situation that gradually escalates as conflicts, lies, and emotions that are hard to control come to the surface. The film moves at a very fast pace, as each decision further complicates the situation; a relationship with a large age gap, driven solely by desire, ultimately takes its toll, and that keeps us watching until the very end.

Each scene is very well crafted, making everything feel real, but at the same time, I feel like it could have used a bit more emotion and a deeper exploration of the relationship—not just the moments when lust takes over. Beyond that, one area where they really succeeded was in the characters—an older woman and a young man, each with their own insecurities, desires, and mistakes that make them feel very human. Just as they often let their emotions get the better of them, this makes us realize that we should think things through before acting.

El amor es muy bonito y llega en el momento indicado, pero esta película lo muestra de una manera que puede llegar a ser muy delicado y lo convierte en una situación que poco a poco va creciendo, puesto que aparecen los conflictos, mentiras y emociones difíciles de controlar. La película cuenta con un ritmo muy rápido, ya que cada decisión va complicando aún más la situación, puesto que llevar una relación de una gran diferencia de edad y solo por el deseo, termina afectando y eso nos lleva ver hasta el final de la película.

Cada una de las escenas están muy bien trabajadas, que permiten que todo sea sienta real, pero a la vez siento que falto un poco más de emoción y mostrar más parte de la relación y no solo cuando el deseo de verde gana. Más allá de eso una de las cosas donde si apostaron fueron en los personajes, ya que es una mujer mayor y joven, donde cada uno tiene sus inseguridades, deseos y errores que los hacen sentirse bastante humanos, al igual que muchas veces se dejan llevar por las emociones y eso nos hace pensar que debemos analizar antes de actuar.

I found this new movie, Deseo, to be an interesting concept, but at the same time, it has a long way to go before it can be considered a success. Besides, you have to know how to handle love so it doesn’t turn into an obsession and so no one gets hurt; plus, everyone around you is also affected when things don’t go well. So if you like dramas full of tension, secrets, and relationships with an age gap, this might be the movie for you.

Esta nueva película de Deseo me pareció una propuesta interesante, pero a la vez le falta mucho por mejorar para que llegue a ser exitosa, además el amor hay que saberlo llevar para que no se convierta en una obsesión y que nadie salga lastimado, además todas las personas que están alrededor también se ven afectada cuando nada sale bien. Por eso si te gustan los dramas cargados de tensión, secretos y las relaciones con diferencia de edad, está puede ser una oportunidad para ti.
