Gardening Experience: Tips for Vibrant Green Plants
I was never interested in gardening before. I find it challenging to grow plants, and I've watched my mom practice home gardening over the years. But everything changed lately. I finally dared to look at our home garden, observing the growth of the plants and flowers. Some grew healthier and greener, but few became withered.
And I told myself, what if I can keep them vibrant and healthy? Here are some of the gardening ideas I've tried, and these are based solely on my observations and experience.
Sunlight is Power
I learned about the importance of lighting to plants when I was still in grade school. We were introduced to the concept of “photosynthesis” and its significant impact on plant growth. This is why I always ensure that the plants are in a spot that receives enough sunlight, whether it’s full or just partial.
Water Regularly
You know exactly what your plant needs in terms of the amount of water. I always make sure to water them regularly to keep their leaf colors vibrant and to promote healthier growth. I know when it’s time to water them based on the appearance of the soil.
Use Healthy Soil
Here in the province, we make compost for our plants. We keep our soil healthy by putting kitchen scraps, leaves, and fruits. We learned this in school before, and also gathered ideas from YouTube and tutorials. There should be no plastics in there. We produce our organic compost to nourish our plants and promote healthy soil growth.
I am not an expert in gardening, that is for sure. However, I always make sure to learn, little by little, how to give proper care to our plants and flowers at home. Aside from the benefits of healthy soil, regular watering, and access to sunlight, I know that what makes them grow more nutritious and greener is the attention we give to them. They bring peace to our home, make everything perfect just by showing us how they grow livelier each day.
