Back Up Duty: Traveling to Hermosa, Bataan for Disposal & Compliance Report

I have been working as an internal auditor for 10 months, and I have spent time on back-up duty. Even though it means working with different offices, I still enjoy having my back-up duties, especially when it means heading out of town. Early in the morning, I found myself waiting at the bus terminal, ready for a day's work in Hermosa, Bataan, where I was told to have my duty. I have a set of tasks I need to do, so I had to travel early.

Around 6:00 in the morning, the sun was peeking, and the city got busy as I headed inside the bus, book in hand, prepared for the journey ahead. I decided to grab my book so I can read while traveling. I don't want any screen time while on the road, and I am glad I bought some books for myself recently.

The two-hour bus ride to Hermosa went smoothly, and I got to Puregold Hermosa just in time. It was my first time getting in here, so I just told the bus conductor to pull over into the store since I didn't have any idea where it was located. When I got out of the bus, I went straight to the office and clocked in.

I sat down at the desk and checked the files for the reports I needed to complete. I prepared everything and had a clipboard in hand as I walked through the store doing the compliance activity. I also greeted the store manager on duty so they would know that an internal auditor is present in their store for further checking and witnessing.

After working on the compliance activity, I talked to the Receiving Supervisor and requested their merchandise disposal slip. I checked the items that are subject to disposal due to being damaged or expired. I need to make sure that the items will be disposed of properly, so I coordinated everything with the store manager and supervisors. Luckily, the tasks were completed perfectly, and I submitted the reports on time.

By afternoon, my tasks were done, and I said my goodbyes to everyone, collected my things, and made my way back to the bus stop. Even though I feel so tired from my duty today, it felt satisfying knowing that I accomplished everything I was tasked to do. When the bus stopped in front of me, I went inside and chose a window seat. I opened my book and started reading again. It took me another 2 hours of travel time before I got home.
