One of the Machines being serviced

It was a busy week of maintenance and employee engagement. During the employee engagement, someone asked a question."Why has management not announced the employee who stole a phone in the factory recently?

Wisdom is profitable in all things. I was in my office when about 8 employees stormed my office. When they entered, I quietly asked how I could assist them, as it was still early to entertain employees in such numbers. They narrated how an employee lost his phone and requested that I assist them in speaking to the control room to track the culprit and do the needful.

I nodded and requested that they return to duty while I asked the owner of the lost phone to wait behind. I asked him a few questions, collected the timeline of the loss, and discharged him.

Long story cut short, we tracked the person who allegedly stole the phone, but the findings after carefully examining the CCTV and interrogating the employee showed it was not an intentional act.

Where the incident happened

The employee went to a control panel location to plug in a grinding machine. As he left the location, he packed everything on the control panel to his work location before the phone's owner started looking for their phone and eventually found the phone on the ground with other items the employee was working with.

Another machine serviced within the week

Instead of blowing it out of proportion, the maintenance team members directly affected were called to the boardroom, where the issue was explained, and reconciliations were made.
