Little did I know that Sandra’s attendance at the management meeting would turn out that way. I was in my office that fateful day when my intercom rang. Picking up the call, my boss instructed, “Prepare a promotion letter for a staff member and come to the management meeting with it.” I paused, but on second thought, I obliged, and immediately I affirmed. He said thank you and hung up.

My mind raced up and down trying to catch up with who this employee was. A few minutes before the management meeting, he called again and requested I invite Sandra, one of our sales executives, to the meeting. I affirmed and relaxed, knowing it was no other person than Sandra.

However, there were other perks well packaged by the board which were not revealed to me. Benefits like a paid vacation to a country of her choice and an official car were arranged.

At the meeting that day, during the AOB session, what started as a thank-you for your efforts metamorphosed into a one-of-a-kind mega celebration at the management meeting.

After the celebration, when the employees approached me to query what happened. I simply told them that Sandra got a butterfly effect of her little push here and there for results.

That feedback sent them away to their dictionaries and gave us peace.
