Kiddo's Summer Vacation 2: Morning Walks at the Old Airport's Runway

It's her summer vacation, but I still have to work graveyard shifts. I couldn't accompany her for sightseeing frequently. One morning, in one of my rest days, we planned to have a walk at the Old Airport's Runway and have a breakfast at the diner near the shore.

At our hometown, baywalks are far from our location, so she couldn't enjoy this more often unlike with her other cousins who has motorbikes. It's more convenient for them to go wherever they want everytime.

Though she's not that demanding, she still mentions what she wants sometimes and one of them is to go to the sea. Well, as a parent, it hurts more if you can't provide what your child desires even in the simplest of things. Sure, expensive toys can make up for it but giving the most simple thing to them is sometimes the hardest to give. It's a challenge to build a relationship if it's difficult to find time to be together.

When we reached the shore, we stopped by the seawall and say by to watch the waves for a while. We're talking about what to eat while she's busy interrupting us and pointing what she could observe.

"What is that island called at the of the sea?" It's the Island of Guimaras that could be clearly seen when it's sunny.

"Why do boats stay still in the middle?" They're catching fish.

"Whose dogs are they?" I have no idea.

It's kind if hard to keep up if you're a nonchalant Mom and you have a talkative daughter.

We're having a good weather today, so we stay there for a while until the dogs approached us. They looked like they meant no harm but those are stray dogs, and I mean, it's a lot of them which we're not familiar with. Just to be safe we moved to the diner.

We bought Taho on our way here, by the way. It's only Php 20 per cup, but the seller didn't have any change with him, so he let us pay with only Php 50 since the other one is a kid. He's very kind and generous.

We ordered a few dishes and warm drinks to have a table. It's our usual spot. I know I keep posting about this place everytime I go here. It might look simple but it's peaceful for us. No noise, fresh air and not crowded.

After we're done, we hurriedly went back home because the sun is scorching hot already at 8AM. It's still early but it's summer, you know. This is the season where we have the highest heat index throughout the year.
