THE MYSTERY BEHIND MY FOOTWEAR COLLECTION…

There is no greater joy than the joy that comes with adding a new footwear to your footwear collection, there is a particular saying about good shoes and it goes like this; good and fitted shoes take you great places but worn out and oversized shoes take you back to your worst nightmare, I don’t know who said that but that just came right out of somewhere in my head 😂, what I am trying to say is that new footwear bring me immense joy and happiness and this is because I am a big fan of footwears…

I didn’t wake up one day to start loving footwears, it all started from somewhere and someone, will you like to travel with me to the past for some minutes, giddy up because it is going to be an interesting time travel experience…

I am a born and brought up city boy, and grew up in the company of so many other kids and families, the fact is that there so many advantages and disadvantages to this kind of life, but amidst these disadvantages lies one great person, and that great person was the only bachelor in my compound 5-6 years ago…

My first encounter with this man happened to be when I was in dire need of help, I was given an assignment on mathematics on that very day in school, and getting back home to go meet my siblings who didn’t have time to help me out that day, I tried to make them teach me but at the end of the day, I also whiled away my time and lost focus, I woke up the next day to find out my siblings had gone with the bike man, I couldn’t be more saddened, I tried to find help for myself and that was how I found myself knocking on this bachelor’s door, he opened the door for me and let me in, asking me what I needed…

I greeted him and responded to him, I asked him if he could help me with this assignment and he stretched out his hands and took a look at it, he sat me down and explained to me in bits and pieces, but while he was explaining to me guess what I was doing???…

I was looking at his room paintings, his shelves, my eyes were not with him any longer but my ears were hearing his explanation since I was a fast learner, his room was just so colorful and beautiful that I felt like spending more time with him before school…

He helped me and I understood perfectly well than what my teacher had explained, find out the shocking aspects of the whole story; I packed my books and bag and bade him goodbye, facing my way out and the next thing I saw was a shoe rack as tall as the short me, I was so overwhelmed by not just the sight of the shoe rack but by the collection of footwears he got on his shoe rack…

I left there counting about 15 pair of shoes on that rack that day, there was sneakers for smart wears, palm sandals for native wears, half shoes for native wears, trekkers for smart clothing, and palms for casual outing. I left there feeling overwhelmed, there were several hand made footwears on his rack, seeing this made me decide to get closer to him to know the reason behind his footwear collection…

As time went by we became closer, and he told me how he is a big lover of footwears and how he bought footwears with his first salary when he moved out of his parents house years ago, he summarized it by saying; this has been me from day one, by this time I had already seen and touched the whole of his footwears, and even tried some out 😂, the interesting thing about him is that he gives them out sometimes and get them replaced with another, he even has a personal cobbler, whom i go to, to collect any of his newly made footwears from whenever it’s ready…

I think I kinda got influenced by him while growing up and before I knew it, I also started investing in footwear’s, the truth is that I am partially into shoe making, I know a couple of things about it, but i am still learning, and I will be resuming my apprenticeship soon, but right now I can’t because of school preparation…

This was the man that made me a lover of footwear’s, one day I am going to grow my shoe collection like his, for now I have decided to start small and by starting small I decided to spend some of my zealy earnings on making some new footwears last two weeks…

I spent almost 20$ on making some new ones and getting some old ones fixed, and now it is looking good to go…

In summary, I guess you can say I am starting to build my own footwear collection, the truth is that I love investing my money in footwears rather than expensive clothings, I will spend any amount on getting a very nice pair of shoes, but not in clothes, and I even prefer getting my clothings sown by my designer; lekunz clothing, he has been my forever designer, and he is good at what he does…

In conclusion, I am grown and I am still growing, which means I still have long way to go into making my shoe collection goal come true, It feels good gifting one self a Christmas present in advance, I feel good and proud of myself, I keep my collection going next year again…
