Saludos queridos amantes de la costura, espero se encuentren de maravilla y estén teniendo una excelente semana. Tenía bastante tiempo sin pasar por acá pero creo que esta es la época en la que más he estado cosiendo solo que no me da tiempo de organizarme para tomar los fotos y documentar el proceso también porque que mi teléfono ha estado presentando fallas por esto estaba tan perdida, pero estás últimas semanas he estado cosiendo pijamas para vender cuando tenga tiempo les muestro, hoy les quiero compartir un pedido diferente que me hizo una tía pues me pidió hacerle un bata para dormir a su medida, ella es rellenita así que la quería ancha a pesar que la tela estira y también la quería cortar pues no le gustan usar esas batas de señora 🤭 no se si me explico quería algo cómodo pero juvenil así que me puse manos a la obra con una tela bellísima que compré con estampado de animal print y el resultado final cumplió con las expectativas, así que acompañame a ver el proceso.

Greetings dear sewing lovers, I hope you are feeling wonderful and are having a great start of the week. It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by here, but I think this is the time of year when I’ve been sewing the most—it’s just that I haven’t had time to get organized enough to take photos and document the process, partly because my phone has been acting up. That’s why I’ve been so out of the loop, but these past few weeks I’ve been sewing pajamas to sell. When I have time, I’ll show you. Today I want to share a different order I got from an aunt—she asked me to make her a custom-fit nightgown. She’s on the curvy side, so she wanted it roomy even though the fabric stretches, and she also wanted it cut differently because she doesn’t like wearing those old-lady nightgowns 🤭 I don’t know if that makes sense—she wanted something comfortable but youthful—so I got to work with a gorgeous animal-print fabric I bought, and the final result met her expectations, come with me to see the process.

Paso a paso || Step to step

El proceso para hacer está bata es súper fácil, lo primero que hice fué extender la tela doble para cortar las dos piezas de la bata, usé un patrón de top para guiarme en la parte del escote y luego corté con la talla deseada hacia abajo, luego coloqué las dos piezas enfrentando sus derechos y cosí los costados.

The process for making this robe is super easy. First, I laid the fabric out double to cut out the two pieces of the robe. I used a top pattern as a guide for the neckline and then cut down to the desired length. Next, I placed the two pieces right sides together and sewed the sides.

Para coser los tirantes corté una tira de 6 cm de ancho que coloqué como bies en el escote y luego cosí los dos tirantes, para diferenciar la parte de adelante le cosí elástica en la parte del escote y por último para coser la orilla de la bata usé la técnica del fruncido estirando la tela y cosiendo en la orilla para hacer un lindo detalle en el borde. To sew the straps, I cut a 6-cm-wide strip and attached it as bias tape along the neckline, then sewed on the two straps. To set the front apart, I sewed elastic into the neckline, and finally, to finish the hem of the robe, I used a gathering technique by stretching the fabric and sewing along the edge to create a pretty detail.
