Melodeath from Canada - Decadawn
Hi Steemit !
I would like to introduce and present to you this most excellent Melodic Death Metal band from Montréal, Canada.
They released their first three songs demo in 2001, and their first full album at the end of 2014, entitled Solitary Confinement. 13 years it took for frontman Louis-Charles Tardy to compose and self-produce this high quality album, with themes revolving around depression, solitude, and more importantly, recovery.
Their musical inspiration is mostly from the early days of Melodic Death Metal, such as Dark Tranquillity, In Flames , and At the Gates (who's singer is doing back vocals on Decadawn's title track - Solitary Confinement) , with some others such as Opeth, and power metal for the clean vocals parts.
Montréal based metal fans will no doubt recognize this, as the band gave away a few thousand copies of the CD for free at several concerts in 2014-2015. They are currently in the writing process for their second album.
Their album can be purchased on Google Play Music, iTunes, and on http://decadawn.ifmerch.com/en/ for the physical CD.
Here are a few of their songs currently available on youtube.
I hope Steemit's metal fans will appreciate them as much as me :)
\m/ peace
