When my nephew was born, the problems with power outages were already a reality. Well, actually, my sister was spared the five-day blackout (a terrible story, by the way), since she was in Peru at the time. Because of this, he hasn't been as affected by being without electricity for a while. However, it's not something anyone should have to endure. Even so, the older he gets, the more frustrating these outages are becoming for him. When he was little, it was easier to entertain him; even taking lots of pictures, like the ones I'm sharing with you today, was a joy and a way for us to spend time together.

However, when we're left without electricity for longer periods, and he's currently 6 years old, it becomes tedious. Even wanting to play with his toys in the heat is very uncomfortable for him. Of course, he does it because he has no other choice but to entertain himself in the meantime, because getting him to do something else, like write or do something else, is difficult without good light. The other way he passes the time is by talking a lot; he talks nonstop and leaves us exhausted in the process. Sometimes we play with him, other times we have to work, even if it's just on our phones, and it's truly disheartening that we all go through this ordeal, but especially for him, since he's so young and doesn't understand why he's watching a cartoon and the power goes out. Despite being born with these problems, he always ends up asking us: "How long until the power comes back on?"
