It's very hot here in Kyoto today. I was already sweating from the morning walk. And when I came home and was drawing, I was sweating even though I was supposed to turn on the air conditioner. And when I went shopping around 11 o'clock, I felt the heat rising from the road.

I painted this picture because I thought both rain and thunder would be twisted by the heat on such a scorching hot day. But the sun is shining straight today ......

今日、こちら京都はものすごく暑いです。朝の散歩の時からもう汗だくでした。そして帰宅して絵を描いている時も、エアコンをつけているはずなのに汗がにじみ出てきました。そして11時頃買い物に行った時、道路から熱気がむんむんと昇ってくるのを感じました。

こんなうだるような酷暑の日には、雨も雷も暑さでねじれると思ってこの絵を描きました。もっとも、今日はまっすぐに太陽が照りつけていますが……。
