Interstellar: A Masterpiece of Cosmic Solitude and Human Connection

Even though the movie shows a beautiful intergalactic adventure through wormholes and black holes, its essence is much more humane. In my opinion, the most emotional scene of the whole movie happens in Miller's ocean planet. As it is located very close to the event horizon of a supermassive black hole, due to gravitational time dilation there is a very significant difference in time flow. One hour spent there corresponds to seven years on Earth. After experiencing a delay and coming back to the spaceship, twenty-three years have already gone past. It becomes clear what a terrible feeling Cooper experiences in the scene when he watches his kids' video messages from the twenty-three years in solitude.

Moreover, it is worth mentioning the duality of human nature when facing extreme conditions:

The Power of Sacrifice: Cooper decides to sacrifice himself and steps into the unknown just to give people a chance to live.

The Trap of Selfishness: However, Dr. Mann goes to the point of betraying his companions just to be alive.
