Update on our Basilan Chickens
Its been 2 months since I posted about the chickens given by a friend. They are indigenous chicken being bred for cockfighting. They were still chicks maybe about 2 months old when they arrived so I can't tell by then if they are males or females.
Now, after 2 months, I can clearly identify their genders!
So basically, there are 3 males and 1 female. Males are bigger and taller with colorful and shiny feathers. They will also grow comb (or cockscomb), the red comb-like bit on top of their heads, and also 2 of those that dangle on their chin.
The males, the feathers changed colours, now it's colorful
Male, he's tall and likes to fight with the others, especially when it's feeding time
Female, and hasn't changed its color. At a distance, she looks like a fat crow 😂
The males also started to crow, but a bit hoarse yet (more of a croak) as they are still juveniles.
They are given chicken feeds, but sometimes they got tired of it so we give them our left overs and they liked it more. They are heavy eaters too!

It will not be long when the female lays eggs... And hopefully give you an update when that time comes. 😊
