Island Reflections
After a couple nights away and a really relaxed trip, we are back home from the archipelago. We spent most of yesterday walking around a different island with a small harbour and café on it, and the kids down at the beach there. Then back to grill some good food and then on to watch the football, between sauna shifts. And then the ladies made crepes.
Not a bad day!
After a very relaxing morning breakfast and chilling out, today was more about getting ready to leave the island and get to the ferry by boat. It was a bit of a challenge once we were on the next island in the car, because while we should have been there in good time, my wife navigated to the wrong end of the island and to the wrong ferry - so we had to fly across the island (no police out there) in order to get to the right ferry, and then fly across the next island to ensure we made it onto the main ferry trip, or we would have had to wait another three hours, and we would have missed our friends who were taking their boat to their car, on a completely different island again.
Not the most relaxing ferry journey.
But once we met our friends again by car, we travelled to a group of a craft stores where they were blowing glass and making clay stuff, as well as iron and silver work. We were only there for some coffee together though, before we would part ways and head back to our respective homes - they are our neighbours. But, we went a different way and dropped in for dinner in a different city, giving the dog a walk around and enjoying the last bit of the trip.
Two more hours home.
And here we are, tired, but pretty content with the last few days, and ready for a good sleep in our own beds. The next few days will be warm before the temperature plummets and it starts to pour rain, so we will try to enjoy what we can, while we can. And when I say "we", I mean the girls, because I have to get back to painting the floors.
I had almost forgotten about that....
