Matcha Latte
Hello guys....
How are you all? I hope you are all well and always happy. Meet me again, nice to meet you all. I'm back with my story about visiting a beautiful cafe with delicious drinks.
This time, I’m visiting a beverage shop called Momoyo. Momoyo offers a wide variety of drinks, including tea, milk tea, milk-based beverages, chocolate, coffee, and refreshing drinks—and their latest addition is Matcha. Actually, the Matcha option has been available for a while, but it has only just arrived in my area, so I’m going to give it a try.
There isn't just one option in this Matcha series; there are several. Choices include matcha ice cream, waffles with matcha ice cream, a matcha sundae with jelly, and matcha drinks. There are three drink variants: matcha latte, matcha latte with brown sugar boba, and strawberry matcha latte.
The drinks at Momoyo are affordably priced, but if you want an even better deal, you can purchase a voucher for your desired drink on TikTok and redeem it at the store. This option isn't limited to Momoyo; it applies to several other stores as well.
The drink I ordered was a Matcha Latte; priced at around 15,000 rupiah, it is the cheapest matcha I have ever bought. Despite the low price, it was delicious—featuring the bitterness of the matcha balanced by the creaminess and sweetness of the milk, along with added jelly.
How can a matcha this cheap taste so delicious? At first, I assumed they were using culinary-grade matcha, which would explain the low price. I also thought the matcha flavor wouldn't be very strong and would just taste sweet. But it turned out I was wrong; the matcha flavor really comes through—it’s not just sweet, but also has that characteristic bitterness of matcha (though I still don't know exactly what grade they use).
I can't wait to try the strawberry matcha. Let me share a quick story about an experience I had buying matcha elsewhere: it cost three times as much as the one at Momoyo, yet it didn't taste good at all—it was basically just milk with matcha flavoring. That’s why I really love the matcha at Momoyo; even though it’s affordable, it’s still delicious.
Okay, that's my activity this time. Thank you for reading my story, see you in my next story~
