Learn English Using Books

How are you all? I hope you are all well and always happy. Meet me again, nice to meet you all. I'm back with my interesting and fun story, although this time it's a little different from the activities I've done before.

This time I'm going to learn English. Actually, I can speak English, but not very fluently. And so far I've never studied seriously, so now I want to learn to be fluent in English.

This desire started because when I went abroad and couldn't speak the native language of that country, English was the right choice, but because I wasn't used to using it, I was a little stiff in using it. Therefore, from that moment on, I was determined to be fluent in English, so when I was in another country, I could speak with them using English well.

Initially, I wanted to take a class to learn, but the time provided by the English learning center didn't fit with my work schedule, so I decided to study on my own. I would start by increasing my English vocabulary, and I chose to study using an English novel, specifically the book 'Bad Blood' by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

I bought this book some time ago when I was abroad, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. Actually, this isn't the first time I've read English. I've read a lot of novels and comics. Usually, they're just light reads, but this time it's quite a heavy read, and I've learned a lot of new vocabulary.

I write down the words I don't understand on paper, writing them down one by one so I can find out what they mean. And find out the translation.

Then, if I have finished reading and writing a chapter, I rewrite all the words that I don't understand into the book, and of course I also write the meaning in Indonesian.

There's so much I don't know, so I have to write it down so I don't forget. I think this is a great and enjoyable activity. I can read a novel but also learn and gain new knowledge.

I'll continue reading this novel until the end, and of course, I won't just be reading. I'll also get used to listening to people speak English and also start to get used to speaking English.
