Hanging Out with Mika - My Constant Companion - by Sunscape

This is Mika, our Shih Tzu-Maltese, hanging out on the back porch with me. She rarely leaves my side, no matter what I'm doing, what room I'm in, she has to be nearby.

Can you tell that she really likes sitting in the lounge chair? If hubby is on it, she will actually sit with him instead of me. At least she shares her time with both of us.

This is her favorite spot to lie in the sun. It's funny that she always chooses the same place, as it must have good vibes or something for her.

Sitting patiently waiting for a squirrel to come into the yard so she can have a good chase. Last week, she actually caught one, and hubby had to get it out of her mouth to release it.

She loves her octopus squeaker toys and runs all over the yard shaking them, trying to get one of us to play with her.

She is intrigued by the sparrows feeding the baby birds up on the post. The first flock left the birdhouse two days ago, and it won't be long before we start hearing chirping in the birdhouse once again.

All tuckered out, time for a short puppy nap on the lounge while I sit nearby reading a book.

The first thing after a nap, she runs to get a toy to start playing all over again. Here she is waiting for me to acknowledge her and the ball. I must have been taking too long to do so, as she made a little whimper to let me know she was ready.

It was a long day, and after dinner was done, she retired to her bed with her favorite stuffed companion, Curious George.

I think George was taking up too much room, lol. That's a typical day in our life with Mika. Well, except for her morning walk throughout the neighborhood. She certainly is the center of attention in our household.
