Osijek - Old section

It was time to get a taste of what the old part of Osijek had to offer. Luggage stowed and snack consumed we then set out on a mission of discovery.
It was immediately obvious that we were in for a treat. The cobblestoned streets led us through rows of houses and shops hugging each side of the road creating an atmosphere that was almost surreal. There were lots of photographs taken in order to capture and remind us of our experience in the future.
Stopping constantly to inspect the small shops such as the local bakery, we then decided to rest and try the local brew. It was pretty good, especially as we were given the run down on who and where the beer was produced.
We eventually made our way to the town square, which I can imaagine would be packed on a warm summers evening, as there wrer plenty of tables and chairs nearby in order to create pop up bar and cafes at amoments notice. The town university also bordered and overlooked the square.
