Discovering a new walking / photography area "De Schammer"

This morning after i brought the wife to work again, she can't drive her self at the moment due to visual issues and public transport not availeble in that area at that time so i just get up at 5 am to drive her .

On the way home i decided to walk and discover a new area for maybe wildlife photography , i brought the Sony a7II with the Sigma 150-500mm lens just incase there might be some wild life this morning.

After we have only lived here since Dec 2024 so plenty new areas to discover.

Now before we start get a some coffee and go to the bathroom and put on some good walking shoes , because we have a lot of pictures to show .

The clouds were threatning with rain , but lucky for me it didn't rain.

The first wild plant i saw was Heracleum mantegazzianum [ giant hogweed ] , always be very carefull with those
as wiki pedia mentions : "The sap of giant hogweed is phototoxic and causes phytophotodermatitis in humans, resulting in blisters and scars. These serious reactions are due to the furanocoumarin derivatives in the leaves, roots, stems, flowers, and seeds of the plant. Consequently, the jurisdictions of many regions consider it a noxious weed."
alt

Only allowed to be here between sunrise and sunset , stay on the path , etc.

alt

The grass is flowering in all kinds of colours

alt

To the right there is a path towards a willow tree

alt

And straight forward there is a pond it seems
let's start with the pond .
alt

hmm differend colours .. yup that is the smartphone , but still a nice reflection on the water.
alt

nice quit water surface perfect for reflections and maybe also a good spot for some timelapse photography.
alt

on the left side there was some reed
alt

And at the end on the right too

alt

At the end of the pond was a small island
but no wildlife to take pictures of.

alt

so back to the road / path again
alt

Such a nice pond but no wild life to be seen , very strange.

alt

More flowering grass good to see that they don't cut everything down here , that might increase the chances on finding macro subjects next time.
alt

Such a wide are , you hear plenty of birdsongs but nothing visible on the water .

alt

oh look at the back of the field could that be some wild life , time to get the big lens again and put the phone away for now .

alt

Oh look karinxxl@karinxxl we do have deers in this area too , not easy to get it in focus due to the reed growing in front of it , and the wind blowing it left and right .

alt

Luckely the distance was long enough and the wind was blowing towards me, other wise she would have smelled me.

alt

I definitly need to come back here with the tripod and remote trigger.

alt

Red clover flowering but no bees or flies yet to be seen .

alt

Ahh there is that one again the
Heracleum mantegazzianum [ giant hogweed ]

alt

Flowering thistle also no bees or flies , really odd maybe it's still to early

alt

Ohh we cant go there ...

alt

Hmmm differend kind of wildlife running arround here .

alt

Flowering buttercups but no insects to see ..

alt

Observation post for bird watchers

alt

nice decorated with paitings of birds , but no birds to see when you peek through the holes ...

alt

so onward we go...

alt

more flowering grass

alt

and another type of grass flowering

alt

And then we had these pink flowers

alt

And a complete hill with that specific plant Heracleum mantegazzianum [ giant hogweed ] and from the look of it someone has been cutting them down .

alt

And another jetty , and more reflections
alt

And o look finally some wild life can you see the ducks ? No ? ok i'll grab the big lens again .
alt

There we go , now you can see them with reflections

alt

looks like they don't like to be seen together she is swimming away ..

alt

there was a bird but when i pressed the button it was gone ..

alt

and there is the Heracleum mantegazzianum [ giant hogweed ] again , and it's about to flower .

alt

hurray i see the carpark on my way home to get some coffee , and start writing a post for al those people sitting or stil sleeping at home.

alt

If you want to ge to this place one day you can find the area here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/W3Bt91WXreV9PXDx9 on google maps .
