Winter Work Glove Fail
I got a new pair of "winter" work gloves the other day. It's not easy to find a glove that can take some abuse, allow for a bit of dexterity, and keep your hands warm.
I put these things on and they feel alright initially; until I actually start working in the snow.
We got a good blizzard here the other day that didn't stop until late. I got out during a little break in the snow to do some preliminary shoveling around the doors before my little tractor takes over and plows everything back.
This is where I first tried out my new gloves, which presented an instant flaw.
You can see in the photo there is a little tag indicating they are double insulated for the cold. That's all fine and the gloves feel warm enough. Not that a work glove can ever be as warm as a big pair of winter gloves, but they were doing the trick. The problem is the large hole exposing the skin less than 1" from the "double insulated" tag.
Who designs a winter glove with a hole in the side?
Every time I tried to brush some snow off something it would all go into this hole. It's like no one tried to actually use the glove in the winter before sending it for production.
So these gloves will be downgraded to fall and spring work gloves, because they don't really work in the snow.
Epic fail.
