Rocking my Tele at a Hitchin open mic
Some years ago I started a pub music session in my home town of Arlesey. It has grown into a great set of musicians who I call friends. We put on open mic nights where people can do more of a performance once a month.
The latest sessions have been at The Angel's Share in Hitchin. This is a whisky bar that also serves great Indian food and is run by Harpreet who loves live music and hosts lots of acts. Our session is early evening on a Sunday and there is often someone else playing afterwards.
@todayslight has hosted a few of these and you can see him tweaking the sound. He has his own post of original songs he played that evening.
I was playing my trusty Benford Telecaster. This time I used Roland Cube 80x amplifier. I had not used it for ages, but I was doing some tunes with @daniellemurray that needed some heavy sounds for some 'clarinet doom'! I used a couple of different settings for my set with some added delay. I do make a few mistakes, but this is live music. You may notice I am using a thumb pick. This works for me as I have issues holding a normal pick due to muscle issues with that hand.
Thanks to @anna-newkey and her partner Ray for the video.
Rock on!
