I've never flown a kite / Nunca he volado una cometa

A few months ago I attended an event where children and young people were going to make their kites, or papagayos as we call them in Venezuela, and then put them to fly.

As a child I never flew a kite, and it is something I would like to do, I think it must be amazing. As I found out about this activity late, I didn't ask if I could participate, so I just went to watch the flight of these paper birds.

The sky was with a lot of clouds that day, so it wasn't easy to capture the kites in the air, but I had fun trying to catch them with my phone camera.

I've seen that there are many tutorials on the internet to be able to make a kite, and I'm going to give it a try, see how it turns out. I also need to look up instructions for flying hahaha.

Although they are currently considered a game, history says that kites emerged in China about 1,200 years before Christ, and their use was military, to communicate messages through the colors they put on them. There are records that in the twelfth century children played with them in Europe, and then they spread around the world, with shapes, colors and materials according to the imagination of its creator.

Hace unos meses asistí a un evento donde niños y jóvenes iban a fabricar sus cometas, o papagayos como les decimos en Venezuela, y luego ponerlas a volar.

De niña nunca volé una cometa, y es algo que me gustaría hacer, me parece que debe ser increíble. Como me enteré de esta actividad tarde, no pregunté si podía participar, así que simplemente fui a ver el vuelo de estos pájaros de papel.

El cielo estaba con muchas nubes ese día, así que no fue fácil captar las cometas en el aire, pero me divertí tratando de cazarlas con la cámara de mi teléfono.

He visto que hay muchos tutoriales en Internet para poder hacer una cometa, y voy a intentarlo, a ver cómo resulta. También debo buscar instrucciones para volar jajaja.

Aunque actualmente se consideran un juego, la historia dice que las cometas surgieron en China unos 1.200 años antes de Cristo, y su uso era militar, para comunicar mensajes a través de los colores que les ponían. Se tienen registros de que en el siglo XII los niños jugaban con ellas en Europa, y luego se expandieron por todo el mundo, con formas, colores y materiales acordes a la imaginación de su creador.
