The official home of "Hive Snaps" app — where you’ll find everything you need to know about the newly launched app, and get ongoing updates about this exciting project.


But first — what is Snaps?

Snaps is a fairy recent new feature introduced by PeakD to allow users to post short-form content (up to 280 characters) — much like tweets, status updates, or microblogs — directly onto the Hive blockchain.

• Quick thoughts and updates
• Short tips and recommendations
• Sharing a photo or a single idea
• Linking to longer posts or external content

🔑 Key Features:

• No titles required
• No beneficiaries or advanced options on payout
• Supports images, tags, and markdown
• Shows in a special "Snaps" feed on PeakD

In other words, a Snap is a post 'on-the-go' — great for letting your followers know what you're up to, it can help build your audience, and of course, it pays too.

Enter: Hive Snaps!

Up until now, Snaps was only accessible through the PeakD frontend on your browser (via desktop or a phone). Now, with Hive Snaps app you can post snaps directly on your iPhone or Android - much like with other social media apps such as X and Bluesky.

Developed by @meno and @joseamenac, Hive Snaps is designed to boost engagement on Snaps through an exclusive (Snap-centric) mobile app, that offers a familiar and friendly social media UI, and an intuitive UX - that makes snapping more fun.
