Three Tune Tuesday - djent

Here is a bit of djent for this #threetunetuesday by @ablaze

The first band is Animals as Leaders with a song called wave of babies. Djent is a funny internet genre that sprang up when 7 and 8 string guitars became popular. The name comes from the sound of the rhythm parts of the songs that sound like djent dj djent djent to a heavy drum beat. Then the rest of the song is crazy almost jazzy guitar riffs.

Another prominent djent musician is by a guy named Misha Mnasoor with a solo project called Bulb. Its all instrumentals and when it got popular he started a band called Periphery. Unfortunately they added a whiny screamer-singer to the mix so I still prefer Bulb songs more.

Cloud Kicker is another solo project that became an official band when it got popular. It was started by Ben Sharp who just recorded the songs in is bedroom after his day job. He managed to hit the zeitgeist when djent was just getting popular. The nice thing about this band is they have variety in their music with plenty of medium and low gain songs where its not all heavy or crazy guitar soloing all the time. I like to play the silent movie Metropolis to the full album Discovery. It seems to match the movie perfectly.
