I WAS INVITED TO A WORKSHOP ON ARTISTIC KNOWLEDGE AND EXPRESSION [ENG/ESP]
Hello HIVE, I hope everyone is doing well, enjoying being alive, in good health, and surrounded by positive people.
Hola HIVE espero todos se encuentren bien disfrutando de estar vivos llenos de buena salud y rodeados de gente positiva.
Today I was invited to an activity somewhat different from what I usually do. I went to a sort of "activist" meeting, a workshop to create posters as an artistic expression of protest; well, actually the activity was specifically to protest a small park that is abandoned in the parish of La Pastora in the city of Caracas, Venezuela.
Hoy me invitaron para una actividad un tanto diferente a lo que acostumbro a hacer, fui a un encuentro medio "activista", un taller para crear carteles como expresión artística de protesta; bueno realmente la actividad era específicamente para protestar por un pequeño parque que se encuentra abandonado en la parroquia de la pastora en la ciudad de Caracas, Venezuela.
As more people who were not from the Pastora area attended the meeting, the workshop became a little more open, and ended up being a talk to raise awareness about those abandoned spaces that we as residents of those areas should take care of and give vitality to.
Como al encuentro asistimos más personas que no somos de la zona de la Pastora, el taller se tornó un poco más abierto, y termino siendo una charla para generar conciencia por esos espacios abandonados que nosotros como residentes de esas zonas deberíamos cuidar y darles vitalidad.
We created some typographic posters that reflect our feelings about these kinds of situations that affect us all, since there are always abandoned spaces like this in the areas where we live. In the city of Guarenas, I frequently go to a park near my house to exercise, but that place is very neglected, and that's why I felt very connected to the theme of this meeting.
Realizamos unos carteles tipográficos son expresiones que reflejaran nuestro sentir por este tipo de situaciones que nos afectan a todos, ya que siempre hay espacios así abandonados en las zonas donde vivimos. En la ciudad de Guarenas yo voy constantemente para un parque que está cerca de la casa para hacer ejercicios, pero ese lugar está muy descuidado y por eso con el tema de este encuentro me sentí muy identificado.
In the poster I created, I tried to channel that desire for the city of Guarenas (where I currently reside) to evolve positively and for collective awareness to allow these spaces to be better cared for by the commitment of the community and full of vitality.
En el cartel que realice intente canalizar ese deseo de que la ciudad de Guarenas (lugar donde resido actualmente) evolucione positivamente y la conciencia colectiva permita que estos espacios estén más cuidados por el compromiso de la comunidad y llenos de vitalidad.
Today I met some wonderful people with whom I shared many stories. We also enjoyed some snacks, which were the perfect way to conclude this cycle of activism and social awareness. As night fell, thrilled by this beautiful experience, we all said our goodbyes, hoping that the future will bring us another such pleasant gathering. I hope you enjoyed this experience too. Este día conocí personas muy agradables con las que pude intercambiar muchas anécdotas, también compartimos unos aperitivos que estuvieron muy acertados para cerrar este ciclo de activismo y conciencia social; al caer la noche, extasiados por esta bonita experiencia nos despedimos todos con la esperanza de que el futuro nos regalé nuevamente un encuentro así de agradable. Espero que esta experiencia sea de su agrado, buenas vibras.
