As promised, the final donut of Krispy Kreme's limited edition Coronation donuts. I bring to you the Lemon Shortbread.

Of course Krispy Kreme had to drop a rigged donut in there somewhere. I thought the base of this donut would be their Original Glazed, however the texture didn't seem like a donut, more like a bun and it wasn't as sweet. The lemon icing on top was thick and full of lemon flavour. Then you had the donut hole filled with thick vanilla frosting and little shortcake teeny tiny biscuits. I couldn't;t bet much taste of vanilla because the lemon was to strong and there could've been bigger chunks of shortcake because they got lost in my mouth too. Overall this was a nice donut but needed more texture and probably just a little bit more sweetness. Still very nice though.
Well there had to be shortcake in there somewhere to represent King Charles III Scottish Heritage. That's what I think anyway. Regardless, this donut was full of lemon all the way throughout. I do love a lemon donut and this didn't disappoint. Three cheers for the three donuts!! Hip-Hip Hooray! Hip-Hip Hooray!! Hip-Hip Hooray!!!
