Net Pancakes with Goat Curry

Hi bloggers and food lovers! How are you all today? Since it’s still Eid al-Adha, we have plenty of goat meat on hand. My mom made goat curry today, so I thought I’d make roti jala to go with it. Roti jala or Net pancakes is a traditional dish of ours that looks like a net. It’s a perfect pairing, spicy, aromatic goat curry paired with savory roti jala. So yummy. Alright, let’s get started

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 ml water
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions:

  • Place the all-purpose flour in a bowl

  • Crack 1 egg and add it to the bowl

  • Add a pinch of salt and the cooking oil to the bowl

  • Stir briefly until it forms a dough

  • Gradually add water to the bowl, making sure the batter isn’t too thick or too runny

  • Stir the batter until it becomes a smooth, runny consistency

  • Strain the batter until there are no lumps

  • Once the batter is smooth, pour it into a sauce place or roti jala mold

  • Heat a non-stick pan

  • Pour the batter using the mold to form a net-like pattern

  • Cook until the edges of the batter are dry and no longer stick to the pan

  • Remove and place on a plate

  • Roll the roti jala or Net pancakes like this

  • Repeat until all the batter is used up

  • Serve the roti jala or net pancakes with the prepared goat curry

  • Dip roti jala or net pancakes into goat curry

  • Roti jala or net pancakes is ready to
