Brunch at Kopitiam At Local Singapore

Hi bloggers and food lovers, today I had brunch at a kopitiam in the Medan Maimun area called Local Singapore. This kopitiam just opened recently, and I was curious to try it out. So I ordered a few dishes here, there are Singapore Fish Ball Noodle, Kaya Toast and Soft-Boiled Egg Pudding, and Chili Crab Noodle.

Singapore Fish Ball Noodles

This dish, which is synonymous with Singapore, is a must-try—an authentic dish featuring chewy, savory curly noodles and fish balls that are springy yet tender when chewed. The flavor is savory and not too spicy, with the aroma of sesame oil and shallot oil being quite prominent. This dish is perfect as a light brunch option.

Kaya Toast and Soft-Boiled Egg Pudding

I’ve been craving this dish for the past month. I’ve missed breakfasts like this. The combination of bread and soft-boiled eggs feels so nostalgic. The toasted bread is topped with kaya jam and a pat of unsalted butter, when it arrives, the aroma is incredibly fragrant.

The soft-boiled egg pudding is seasoned with a pinch of pepper and salt to taste, then stirred and tasted to ensure it’s just right. Next, the kaya toast is dipped into the egg pudding, the flavor is exactly as I imagined: delicious and comforting.

Chili Crab Noodles

This dish looks very appealing, it’s red in color but not spicy at all. It has a savory and sweet flavor with crab broth and beaten eggs mixed in. It’s perfect for people who can’t handle spicy food, the sweet taste makes it suitable for both the elderly and young children.
