Glutinous Rice Roll Cake
Hi bloggers and food lovers! How are you today Today I’m back to share a recipe that’s sweet, chewy, and soft. It also comes in cute, colorful variations to suit your taste, and it’s easy to make, just mix the ingredients and steam them. Okay, let’s get right to it!
Ingredients:
- 150 grams glutinous rice flour
- 50 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 packet vanilla powder
- a pinch of salt
- 100 grams sugar
- 65 ml Intan coconut milk
- 235 ml water
- cooking oil
- yellow, blue, and white food coloring
- 100 grams toasted sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Place the glutinous rice flour in a bowl
- Add the all-purpose flour to the bowl
- Add a pinch of salt and the vanilla powder
- Add the sugar
- Pour the instant coconut milk into a measuring cup
- Add water until the total volume reaches 300 ml
- Pour the coconut milk into a bowl
- Stir and mix until well combined
- Divide the batter into 3 portions
- Add food coloring to the batter
Reserve the remainder for the white layer
Prepare a baking pan greased with cooking oil
Turn on the steamer and place the pan inside
Pour the white batter into the pan
Steam until cooked through, about 5 minutes
Add the yellow batter on top
Steam for another 8 minutes
- Let cool, then remove the layer
- Repeat the same process with the blue batter
- Once cooled, roll up the batter and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds
- Cut the rolled sticky rice cake into several pieces
