Aromatic Rice
Hi bloggers and food lovers, on this food hunt I’m going to share an Nusantara Food or Indonesian dish rich in spices that give it a fragrant aroma and deeper flavor. This time I ate at one of the trending spots in my area called Homeground—it’s a comfortable and spacious place.
There are plenty of photo spots and a wide variety of dishes on the menu. This time, I ordered Nasi Rempah Ayam Bakar, Nasi Lemak Sambal Cumi Udang, Tahu Cabe Garam, Pukis Coklat Keju, and Strawberry Smoothie.
Nasi Ayam Bakar Merdeka ( Spiced Grilled Chicken Rice )
This Indonesian dish is quite a complete meal, featuring aromatic rice, grilled chicken with its sambal, crispy chicken skin, urap (vegetables seasoned with coconut and spices), cucumber slices, and a piece of fried tofu. The aroma is fragrant, with a smoky scent from the grilled chicken glazed with soy sauce and grilling spices. The crunchy texture of the urap vegetables also makes the meal more enjoyable, and the sambal is perfectly balanced—not too spicy, so it can still be savored calmly.
Nasi Lemak Sambal Cumi Udang ( Coconut Milk Rice with Squid and Shrimp Sambal )
This dish is just as complete as the nasi lemak (fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and aromatic spices like ginger and lemongrass), served with a sunny-side-up egg, savory squid and shrimp sambal with a hint of sweetness at the end of each bite, fried anchovies, fried peanuts, green beans, and cucumber as a side. The flavor is savory, slightly spicy, and features a crunchy texture from the fried anchovies and peanuts.
Tahu Cabe Garam ( Spicy Salted Tofu )
This light snack is made from fried tofu seasoned with spicy chili pieces and a hint of salt from the sprinkled salt on top. It has a crunchy exterior and a soft interior, and the chili seasoning is quite spicy, delivering a fiery kick from the very first bite
Pukis Coklat Keju ( Chocolate Cheese Pukis )
This sweet dessert, made from a mixture of coconut milk and wheat flour, is the perfect way to end the meal, complementing the savory and spicy flavors enjoyed earlier. It has a soft, fluffy texture, with just the right amount of sweetness, topped with cheese and a sprinkle of chocolate sprinkles that pair perfectly with the pukis cake.
Strawberry Smoothies
A refreshing cold drink combining yogurt, strawberries, and chia seeds, offering a sweet and tangy flavor with a smooth, creamy texture that’s a delight to drink.
That’s all for my food hunt today, thank you for stopping by 😊
