What if it was all a lie?
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. This prompt made me ponder more on the thoughts that cross my mind from time to time: "What if the life we are living was all a lie?" "What if everything we thought to be true was nothing but a lie?" From time to time I have this thought cross my mind, and it makes me not want to get so attached to anything or anyone just in case the thought turns out to be my reality. As humans we are all glad about having family, friends, and relations both far and near; we relate with them freely, and they do the same, all because we are all humans. Now try to picture a scenario where you are no longer human or you discover that you have never been a human all along.
The treatment is definitely going to change; how they see you, how they talk to you and everything you guys had or thought you had is going to come crashing down, as you are not who and what they thought you were, and now they have to treat you like who you are or what you are. I watched a movie titled Companion, where robots were made to feel like humans and were even in a relationship, and with a story about how they met their partners, they made the robots feel real and like they were humans, and when the robot discovered that they were robots and not humans, it actually broke the robot, and the robot went rogue, killing quite a few people.
Finding out I was a robot and all the family I thought I had was a lie is definitely going to break me; seeing how those who treated me like family start to treat me like the robot I am is definitely going to leave a scar and leave me reminiscing on the times when we thought we were family and actually treated each other like one. This discovery is definitely going to bring about a lot of changes: how people around me treat me, how people talk to me, how people look at me and see me, everything is going to change. The discovery that one is a robot and not human is definitely going to cause a crash in one's life.
The fact that I don't want the treatment to change and how people around me see and look at me to change, I am definitely going to keep my discovery a secret and share it with no one at all, as I believe that if you really want to keep anything a secret, then you tell no one. As the moment you tell someone, asking them to keep it a secret, they tell another person and also ask them to keep it a secret. My secret of being a robot will be kept with me and not disclosed to anyone.
