Is Your Child Using Technology In Class?
Interestingly, using technology during class time isn’t as distracting as it seems and could be more beneficial to your child than not doing so. Today, flipped classrooms are on the rise and educators are on board with the change. In fact, 86% of educators think students need video capture skills to succeed in their future workplace, and 1 in 3 educational professionals see video as a way to reach students who don’t have access to classroom learning.
A flipped classroom is an intriguing concept. In short, students receive their lectures at home by using technology to watch pre-recorded videos, sleeping on the new content overnight, and taking their questions to class the next day. In the U.S., nearly 18% of school-age children don’t have in-home Internet access, stunting them from engaging in a flipped-classroom dynamic.
Catering to this, public libraries, corporate donors, and schools are working to provide wireless hotspots to students in need. Additionally, school districts are installing WiFi on school buses to allow rural students to take advantage of their longer commutes - giving them the ability to do homework on the way home.
Using video maximizing classroom time, and improves student achievement by 82%. For more information on the next generation of education, continue reading below.
