WHY I ALMOST QUIT HIVE IN MY FIRST FEW DAYS-AND WHAT CHANGED MY MIND

Hello 👋 Hive Learners family,

I almost left Hive after A few days. Not because I hated it, but because I felt invisible.

I posted 8 times in my first month. I followed the rules, used 5 images, wrote over 200 words. My rewards? Less than $2 total. I saw other posts earning $50-$100 in 24 hours and thought, “Maybe I’m just not good enough for this.”

The turning point came when I stopped checking my rewards every hour and started checking my comments.

I noticed that the posts getting noticed weren’t the ones with perfect grammar. They were the ones where the writer was honest about their struggle and asked real questions at the end.

So I tried it. My next post was about failing my first Hive Learners assignment and what I learned from it. I didn’t expect much. But 7 people commented, 3 followed me, and one curator upvoted. That post made less than $5, but it felt like progress.

What changed? Three things:

1. I got real - I stopped pretending I had it all figured out.
2. I engaged first - I spent 20 minutes daily commenting on other posts before posting mine.

1. I focused on one skill - For me it was writing better titles. I practiced it every post.

Hive Learners taught me that growth here is slow, but it’s real if you stop chasing quick rewards and start building connections.
