THE ADVICE FROM MY MOTHER THAT STILL GUIDES ME

As children, we often think our mothers repeat the same advice just to annoy us. We hear the same words so many times that we stop paying attention. It isn't until we grow older that we realize those simple words carried valuable life lessons.

One piece of advice my mother often gave me was, "Never let temporary emotions make permanent decisions." At the time, I didn't fully understand what she meant. Whenever I was angry with a friend or disappointed by something that happened, my first reaction was to respond immediately.

As I grew older, I began to see the wisdom behind her words. There were moments when I wanted to send an angry message, argue with someone, or make a decision out of frustration. Instead, I remembered my mother's advice and chose to calm down first.

Most of the time, I realized that the situation wasn't as serious as it seemed in the heat of the moment. If I had acted on my emotions, I might have damaged relationships or made choices I would later regret.

Mothers have a unique way of teaching life lessons through simple conversations. They don't always speak in long speeches or complicated words. Sometimes, a single sentence stays with us for years and becomes a guide whenever life gets difficult.

Looking back, I appreciate my mother's advice even more because I now understand that she wasn't trying to control me. She was preparing me for life.
