HAS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE MAKE LEARNING EASIER FOR STUDENTS?
A few years ago, if I didn't understand a topic in class, my only options were to ask my lecturer, borrow a textbook from a friend, or spend hours searching on Google. Sometimes, I still ended up confused.
But things have changed a lot.
These days, Artificial Intelligence, popularly known as AI, has become part of many students' lives. I can honestly say that I use AI from time to time, especially when I need a simpler explanation of a difficult topic or when I want ideas on how to approach an assignment.
As a student, there are topics that can be very technical and sometimes difficult to understand at first. Instead of getting frustrated, I can ask an AI tool to explain the concept in simpler terms. Most of the time, it helps me understand the topic better.
Another thing I like about AI is that it is available anytime. It doesn't matter if it's late at night or early in the morning; I can still ask questions and get answers immediately. This has made learning much easier for many students.
However, I also think there is a danger in depending too much on AI.
I have noticed that some students copy whatever AI gives them without trying to understand it. Some even use it to complete assignments without doing their own research. I don't think that is a good idea.
Technology is supposed to help us learn, not think for us.
AI can sometimes make mistakes too. It may give incorrect information or explain something wrongly. That is why I believe students should always cross-check information from textbooks, lecturers, and reliable sources.
Despite these concerns, I still believe Artificial Intelligence is one of the most useful technologies of our time.
Imagine being able to have a study assistant that is available 24 hours a day. Imagine getting help with difficult topics whenever you need it. That is exactly what AI is doing for many students around the world.
Personally, I don't think AI will replace teachers because there are things a machine cannot do, such as understanding emotions, encouraging students, and sharing personal experiences.
But I do think AI will continue to change education in many positive ways.
For me, Artificial Intelligence has made learning easier, faster, and more interesting. The important thing is to use it wisely and remember that real learning still comes from our own efforts and willingness to understand what we are studying.
