Chronicles of a Hostile City./ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, friends of the #blackandwhite community. I hope you’re all doing well. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from taking street photos, it’s to observe; it’s essential for making progress in this style of photography. What have I noticed? That lately, the city has become very hostile. It lets itself be seen, but not photographed up close; it’s as if it were showing its body but hiding its face. |
¿De qué me he percatado? |

|
Why? It’s as if it’s carrying a huge weight it can’t bear—to the point that, even with people around, the city feels empty. |
|
People turn their backs on you, they don’t look at you up close, and if they do approach, it’s to ask a thousand questions. They’ve become aloof and distrustful. |
|
But it wasn’t like that before—they used to always give you a smile, a five-minute conversation; now, they quicken their pace, turn their backs, or look at you with suspicion. |
|
Here, people are closing themselves off more and more—that’s why there are so many photos of people from behind; it wasn’t a technical choice—it’s simply how they present themselves. |

|
For my part, I continue to document life in this city, hoping that sooner rather than later it will stop hiding and everything will get better. In the meantime, I keep observing and taking photos. |
Mientras tanto, sigo observando y fotografiando. |
|
For now, I’ll say goodbye, grateful 🙏 for your kindness and your time. I’ll be back soon with more personal reflections and street photos. |
