A Panoramic Journey
The fortress that you see in the picture is located in Novi Sad, Serbia.
I am not going to speak about the context of this photo today.
We are going to talk about the technical part of the editing and the creation of the panoramic images.
Even though with a smartphone, with some applications, you can take a panorama with one movement of the phone, with a professional camera, it is a more complicated procedure. You have to take pictures one after the other with overlaps in order for the software to be able to recognize where to put the pictures in the final image.
Then you have to upload them in the program that stitches the photos together. There are numerous applications for creating such images, which you can find by simply searching online, and if you are interested, I can tell you my favorite ones.
In the result, you get an imperfect panorama, from which you have to crop the unnecessary white space around the image, like on the second image below. And then, you move on to the last step, which is the color correction.
And if you want to create an image, worthy of being published in a magazine or sell it, you have to over-enhance the colors a bit in order to make the image pop. And the result of all these steps is the first image above.
Do you like the process of editing images, or is it better left as it is?
Tell me your opinion in the comments below!
