Harvest/ processing Method for okro Fruits

Hello Hive

A beautiful new morning to us all, I hope that we all had a peaceful night rest. I love it whenever it rains at night and just like a miracle I had complained about an earlier dryness we have experienced for about 3weeks now causing moisture contents to dry off from the roots of our crops most especially the rice we planted that have just germinated. It was as if the heavens heard my voice and opened up the domes of the sky. It has been raining since twilight yesterday and the heavy downpour has continued up to this morning as I speak. I had a peaceful sleep that had relieved me of so much stress

This is where the journey of this our planted okro ought to end but my dad is still deciding to spare the okro plants for a few more days. I had felt that we can go ahead go harvest all the fresher okro on the farm and then destroy the entire farm since it has gotten diseases. Yesterday while we closed earlier from our weeding exercise and passed by this farm, there is still sign of life among the plants.

Even when the leaves are already dead you can still see some fresh fruits growing up gradually up gradually. Only the leaves have withered off while the plants are still standing, I was thinking that the plants themselves will wither and dry off soon as their leaves were gone but this isn't the case.

Some 2-3 baskets of okro can still be harvested here, we can't possibly destroy all of these with the plant.

By now I believe you will understand why the fruits can no longer be edible even when they appear fresh like this, the moment you pick up a particular fruit, you will realize that they are very hard, and for making fresh okro soup we need then to be fresh, soft and tender.

Despite this disadvantages there is another use case for this okro fruits, they can be processed into dry okro, which is another form in which these fruits can be eating.

Whenever any plants is in excess they can be processed into another form for consumption right?
This is equally a similar case, whenever okro fruits are no longer edible, they are harvested, cut in pieces and sundried for making another healthy local dish.

The okro fruits are will be perfectly useful for that and since they plant is relatively alive and we are seeing some additional fruits, we decided not to destroy these just yet.
