A blessed and new morning to us all, I hope that we had the very best opening of a new week and are able to carry out our endeavora all through.

We had the very good begining of the new week while trying to clear out some bushes from our farms in locations that are due for weeding.
You will agree with me that every farming activities comes with cultivating the land, followed by planting your specific crops and a little bit of weeding which cannot be completely avoided before other activities come up.

To make things easier for us this year and to avoid a multiple repeated sessions of weeding for each farm, we had applied some herbicides in the farms right after the lands were cultivated. This way the weeds will not germinate alongside the crops almost immediately as they were planted.

The groundnuts have grown up to this very level before the weeds are now begining to show up. Both the groundnuts and potato farms are now covered up in grasses. We now have to suspend the planting of rice we have been doing to earlier for this weeding activities.

The potatoes here are growing and spreading already as they are cover crops but grasses has soon taken over the farm that you can hardly identify them among the bushes. The land space where we have planted these potatoes aren't much big and in just one or two days we would have completed this exercise and return back to our work in the rice field.

We have planted groundnuts in about about 3 locations consecutively but this portions seems to be the one where the plants looks a little bit scanty on the ridges. Remember that when we planted these groundnuts field, we had to go back to replace every missing seeds when the groundnuts germinated. Most times whenever seeds are planted not everything germinates dor one reason or the other and in order not to shorting the harvest or have a scanty field, we often go for replacement planting this way we would have a fuller field like the one you see below.

Before we would do any replacement planting for the scanty field, our seeds were already exhausted and this is why this groundnut field looked scanty. Grasses often grow faster and fill up all the spaces where there are no actively growing plants, this is a good reason why it is important to have a more fuller field.
