GESTALT THERAPY
Hello, great minds,
Yesterday, I remembered discussing the one-talent guy and how some of us might be headed toward destruction.
Yes.
Today, I want to share what I learned from reading "Gestalt Therapy" by Fritz Perls and Laura Perls.
- A person is psychologically healthy when they are aware of their feelings and respond effectively to their needs.
Why do I find this to be accurate?
In my daily life, I often struggle to identify exactly what I feel.
How can I respond to a need if I am not even aware of it?
With this understanding, I realize I may not be psychologically healthy.
That said, I want to explore this more, but I think I need to do more reading.
- Problems occur when someone avoids facing challenges by using defense mechanisms such as denial, projection, and intellectualization.
This is a common issue for many people!
I’ll continue from here tomorrow.
I’m a bit tired now.
I have an exam next week, and I need to keep reading.
Thanks for reading.
